We are currently looking for a dedicated Communications Specialist who is responsible for providing administrative, design and printing support to the Communications Manager and Director of Communications in all aspects of the marketing and communication programs for Hospice of the Chesapeake. This position will require occasional travel to our satellite offices in Calvert... Charles and Prince George’s counties to aid in relationship building.

Office Location: Pasadena, MD

Status: Full-time Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with the Communications Manager to coordinate all agency publications including newsletters, brochures, marketing materials, and family-facing publications.
• Collaborates with printers to identify new cost-efficient printing techniques and usability of new materials.
• Maintains an ongoing inventory of all print and digital materials including letterhead, business cards, brochures, flyers, folders, booklets, and logo items.
• Ensures timely and accurate delivery of needed materials at all locations.
• Collaborates with departmental teams and graphic designer on creation of event specific materials including invitations and event signage for all events.
• Creates and edits videos and other audio/visual elements.
• Assists with special events and other PR/Philanthropy/Organizational activities as requested.
• Maintains engaging up-to-date website content.
• Ensures all forms and materials are up-to-date and available in multiple formats for all users, including utilizing outside vendors to create foreign language versions.
• Creates and distributes eblasts for internal and external email marketing, including conducting interviews and creating content as needed.
• Maintains ongoing invoice tracking for communications expenses.
• Creates, implements and analyzes participant surveys for organizational needs.

Other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager, Director of Communications, and Chief Advancement Officer.

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in communications, marketing, or public relations field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations field.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated expertise in computer skills, including knowledge of word processing and graphics software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task with attention to details and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
