jobs description

Tired of working for a big corporate? Seeking an environment that gives you full autonomy on your projects?

Here is the chance to join an organically growing business with a strong (and profitable) trading history stretching back over 40 years. Revenue sits at around the £40M mark with an order book that stretches into 2026. They are aiming to be a £50M revenue business in the next 3-5 years.

As a niche and highly specialised Marine civil contractor, they offer a unique service to their client base which sits across both the Public and Private Sectors, including high net worth individuals. Typically operating as a Principal Contractor, they delivery design & build projects up to around £12M in value. They excel at winning work by offering alternate technical solutions, and add further value through the ECI process.

Why might you want to consider this position?
• You'd be on a first name basis with everyone in the business, including the CEO
• The working environment and culture is... as far from a corporate as you can get (feel free to bring your dog to work!)
• With their planned growth, there is real opportunity for you to quickly progress to Site Agent

As a Site Engineer you will initially support with the ongoing delivery of a technically challenging and unique project in central London. This is a very high profile subcontract that sits on one of London's largest heavy civils projects. You'll gain experience in working with floating plant, barges and specialist diving activities.

You'll be responsible managing level and survey control, keeping up to date with construction drawings, managing quality and health & safety, resolving technical problems, assisting with RAMS and other site paperwork.

On completion of this project, the intention will be for you to support with ongoing works along the Thames.

For you to be successful in this position, you will:
• Hold demonstrable experience in delivering civil engineering projects, with values in excess of £3M
• Be educated to HND or Degree (or equivalent) level in Civil Engineering
• Ideally have experience of working on Marine or wet civils projects. Alternatively, be well versed in earthworks and piling.
• Have a clean driving licence and a willingness to travel across London and the South East (within reason)

Your contribution will be recognised, valued, and rewarded. There would also be opportunity for you to input into the wider business, helping with quality and processes improvement (if that’s your thing).

On offer is a salary of around 35,000 per annum with a car allowance OR company van, paid travel, matched contribution pension, profit share bonus and 25 days holiday.

“People Group is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to promoting an inclusive environment for both our clients and employees.”
