Position Description (Peace River Office)

Reporting to the Office Manager / Lead Engineer, you will join a dynamic team active on a wide range of municipal infrastructure projects, that include water systems, sanitary sewer systems, drainage and roadways. You will provide technical expertise and project coordination while demonstrating resourcefulness, and adaptability in your role. You will have hands-on involvement in advancing projects through the project proposal, concept, design, tendering and construction phases. The position is full-time.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

· Act as Project Engineer/Manager, working as part of a team and following applicable design guides and standards.

· Complete engineering designs and working with project teams to ensure that drawings and specifications are accurately prepared and checked.

· Prepare written technical documents, analyses, studies, designs, contracts, specifications, cost estimates and reports.

· Tender preparation and facilitation with Client.

· Perform contract administration and field review inspections.

· Overseeing project schedules, budgets and reporting requirements with Client, Contractors, and other agencies.

· Engage in collaborative work environment with your, as well as other disciplines and offices.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

· Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.

· 4 years or more of relevant experience in municipal infrastructure engineering and project management completing studies, designs, Tender Document preparation and Contract administration.

· Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and water modeling software.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, spreadsheets, and related computer programs for civil design.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with colleagues, clients and regulatory authorities.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, technical skills and attention to detail.

· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Committed team player and ability to work independently.

· A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

Pay: $64,525.88-$141,031.02 per year
