SportsBoom brings you the freshest insights, analysis and opinion on the hottest topics in sport. We’re at the games first-hand to bring you closer to the action and make sure you get the most up-to-date information as fast as possible.

SportsBoom is the latest digital sports asset launched by Zealium Media, the sports and esports digital publisher, and we’re looking for a Sports PR Journalist to join our growing team.

With a fast growing audience, SportsBoom publishes insights and interviews with leading sports stars across the globe.

Role Description

The Sports PR Journalist at SportsBoom will be responsible for curating and distributing our exclusive sports news and interviews to key publications.

This role will be involved with the entire news distribution process, from assisting in picking which athletes should be interviewed, to sending out press releases.

This is a perfect role for an entry level candidate, who will thrive on the energy of a pressroom... and is looking to break into the Sports PR and journalism industry.

Location: 2 days a week in our Camden office and 3 days a week remote.

Responsibilities
• Leveraging exclusive sports news and interviews to generate coverage on a variety of publications
• Building media lists of highly targeted websites and journalists
• Building relationships with journalists, press contacts and other key stakeholders
• Work with higher management to request and curate our interviews
• Ideate and develop interview questions with the wider SportsBoom team
• Liaising with journalists to secure placements

Required Skills and Experience
• Graduate with strong academic background and ideally a degree in sports journalism
• Strong relationship building skills within the media and journalism sector
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation
• Determination and flexibility
• A willingness to work hours dictated by content, not necessarily Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00.
• Good research skills
• Ideally have solid newspaper, magazine or sports news website experience
• Must work productively within a team environment
• You are an active and motivated person.
• You are personable, outgoing, and like to solve problems
