Location: LondonClosing date: 1st May 2024The opportunity:The Senior Claims Adjuster will provide a quality focused claims service and is responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of claims notified to the Commercial Insurance, Specialty Lines Claims Team. Specifically, this role will require the successful candidate to handle a case load of Director & Officers (D&O), Financial Institutions (FI) and Commercial Crime (CC) matters within our Financial Lines portfolio both on a domestic and international basis.Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.What will you be doing?Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in the relevant business area... (D&O, FI & CC)Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limitsMentor claims adjusters, acting as a point of referral, technical guidance and providing oversight (authority)Responsible for file quality reviews (LMRs)Setting of accurate case reservesContribute to high level technical output from TeamContribute to a positive and supportive Team cultureManagement of external counsel and experts both locally and internationallyPromptly handle and resolve all claims enquiries from customers, brokers and third partiesAbility to lead a market through a large and / or complex claimManage situations of conflict and have the ability to influence and persuade othersEngage proactively with large numbers of stakeholders, both internally and externallyStrong Customer and Broker engagementWho are we looking for?Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalentComputer-literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS officeProactive and innovative approach to claim solutions from working within technical claims environmentRelevant business/industry qualificationStrong Technical knowledge of products and services offered within Specialty/Financial Lines Portfolio.Experience of handling Directors and Officers, Financial Institutions and Crime covers preferred.Astute and commercially aware with an awareness of the market, business and risks.Understanding of legislation and legal liabilityExcellent understanding of London Market Insurance environment and relevant systems.Interpretation of policy coversNumerate and analytical thinker with excellent negotiation skillsAbility to deliver Thought Leadership on key topicsA team player with the ability to deliver excellent customer serviceProven experience working in the London Market in a similar roleStrong broker contact network within Financial Lines environmentWho we are:At Zurich we aspire to be one of the most responsible and impactful businesses in the world and the best global insurer.
