We are currently seeking a Trainee Actuary to join a world leading provider of reinsurance as an Actuarial Analyst. The successful candidate will work on portfolio growth, reserving function, and ongoing trend analysis. This position is based in Dublin and has hybrid working options. The ideal candidate will have a relevant field of study and 1-2 years’ experience working in an actuarial setting.

About the Actuarial Analyst role

In this role, you will be working on the Underwriting team. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Support for the team in reporting information to a range of audiences and levels including senior management and Actuarial Function and Audit.
• Aid in the production and implementation of Solvency II and IFRS Technical Provisions.
• Support ongoing trend analysis, parameter calibrations and audit requirements.
• Aid in the development and implementation of key pricing and reserving processes using R.
• Assist with the design and maintenance... of central reserving models and processing of reserving data.

Actuarial skills required

This position would suit a Trainee Actuary who has 1-2 years’ experience working in an actuarial setting. Reserving experience is advantageous. Additional skills required include:
• Great time management and the ability to excel as part of a team.
• Degree in a relevant fie leg. Actuarial Science, Mathematics etc.
• Experience coding – preferably R.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Working experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Highly motivated individual
