The Opportunity

Bill McKenzie Gardens is a living community for 137 seniors who are provided with residential care or nursing home services. The Facility Manager is a key leadership role with oversight of care and service delivery to residents... living at the residential care home. The position spans all aspects of managing a sizeable and multi-resident home, including operational, lifestyle, food services and governance elements to ensure the facility provides residents with high-quality care in a safe and welcoming home-like environment while operating within budget, and meeting compliance requirements.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Facility Manager will be responsible for:
• Promote the profile of RSL LifeCare in the local area by building relationships with businesses and community groups, and other RSL LifeCare managers in the area.
• Manage facility expenses (e.g. resourcing, supplies and consumables) and ensure the budget is not exceeded; be accountable for efficient resource rostering and agency usage.
• Demonstrate the RSL LifeCare values in your behaviour – foster a supportive and collaborative environment where achievement and high performance is recognised, and performance management is evident.
• Support and enable the development of the facility management team. Identify opportunities for growth and be aware of organisational opportunities, education, and resources available to support them.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key Commonwealth, State and Territory government departments, veteran and referral networks, suppliers, service providers and other external stakeholders to promote growth and integrated approaches to resident care.

About You

For this appointment we are seeking an established leader with a track record in developing and leading clinical services within the Aged Care sector. You will have a resident-centric approach to care and have demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams within the Aged Care sector.

In addition, the successful candidate will have;
• Undergraduate qualification in Human Services, Nursing, Health Service Management, Business, or Social Sciences.
• Minimum 5 years operational or administrative management experience with demonstrated ability to lead change and sustain a high-performing team.
• Diversity of thought and experience within health care, aged care, or other customer-focused sectors (e.g. hospitality).
• Sound financial acumen with experience performing effectively against operational budgets, including labour costs.
• Experience managing operational compliance with complex regulatory requirements with the ability to interpret the regulatory environment as required.
