Hotel Financial Controller

Located in Kokopo with stunning views of Blanche Bay, the Duke of York Islands, New Ireland and the active volcano Mt. Tavurvur, Gazelle International hotel are seeking a senior finance professional to take ownership of the financials for the hotel.

About The Hotel

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager this position is fully responsible for all Finance functions of the Hotel. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of experience as a senior Finance professional with recognised accounting qualifications. The role will ensure that the Hotel and its full-suite of services continues to be extremely successful through maximum efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
• Preparation of Monthly Management Reports tracking financial performance against budget.
• Preparation of Monthly Cashflow Forecasts.
• Compile Comprehensive Annual Budget with Senior Management.
• Month-End and Year-End accounting including Bank Reconciliations and GL Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Provide timely accurate regular and ad hoc reports requested by Senior Management.
• Fully responsible for Managing the Year-end External Audit with the External Auditors to a timely conclusion.
• Responsible for compliance with all statutory requirements including taxes and licensing.

Qualifications & Skills
• Accounting Management Degree/ Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)
• 5-7 years’ experience in Senior Finance Management Position
• Strong management skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with team members
• Energetic with a high degree of commitment and drive to“do it right the first time!”
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
• A keen eye for detail, a desire to probe further and fix any problems that exist promptly.
• Deadline-orientated, with an ability to stick to time constraints.
