Job Purpose

The job purpose is to lead and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, ensuring consistent and measurable outcomes across all software development and banking processes. This role involves fostering a culture of excellence, collaborating with stakeholders across business and group teams, to align quality initiatives with business objectives, and advocating for the bank's commitment to quality both internally and externally.

Key Result Areas
• lead and communicate the organization's quality assurance vision, mission, and strategic objectives in alignment with business goals and priorities.
• governance mechanisms to oversee and enforce adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project cycle.
• a comprehensive quality strategy, including policies, standards, processes, and metrics, to ensure consistent and measurable quality outcomes that result in overall improved bank performance.
• and champion a culture of quality... excellence across all departments/functions, emphasizing the importance of quality in all aspects of software design, development, and delivery.
• the development and implementation of effective quality assurance (QA) and testing strategies, methodologies, and tools to ensure the detection and prevention of defects throughout the lifecycle/journeys to help lower the cost of maintaining poor banking solutions.
• with the Group QA Chapter Lead to design and implement the global best practices and the framework in DRB
• the planning, execution, and automation of QA activities, including test case design, test execution, defect management, and release validation, in alignment of Group practices
• training, coaching, and mentorship to all stakeholders on quality principles, best practices, and tools.
• with senior leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand their quality requirements and priorities, align quality initiatives with business objectives.
• effectively with executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders on software quality matters, including risks, issues, and performance metrics.
• as an advocate for the Bank’s commitment to quality excellence, both internally and externally, through participation in industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership activities.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships
• Establish governance mechanisms to oversee and enforce adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Interpret, build upon, and comply with company quality assurance standards.
• Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits.
• Recommend tools to maintain higher levels of Quality for all functions.
• Maintain complaint and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Group QA Chapter Lead, to establish guidelines and best practices for test automation, including test script development, maintenance, execution, and reporting.
• Provide executive leadership and guidance on software quality matters, influencing decision-making and fostering collaboration across departments.
• Promote a culture of quality ownership and accountability among teams, fostering a mindset of continuous improvement and learning.

Problem Solving
• Develop improved standards for production, design, and create testing protocols for implementation across all service lines.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
• Serve as an advocate for the Bank’s commitment to quality excellence, both internally and externally, through participation in industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years senior leadership experience in quality assurance, quality management, or related areas.
• expertise in software, product and services quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a track record of implementing successful quality initiatives.
• leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy that aligns with business goals.
• communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse audiences.
• analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex quality issues, identify root causes, and drive effective solutions
