What’s it like working as a UX Designer at Questrade?

As the UX Designer, you’ll take on complex challenges and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs... suited for first-time users, as well as sophisticated experts. You’ll work closely with other Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Owners and users throughout the design process. From creating early concepts and user flows, to building user interface mock-ups and prototypes. At each stage, you’ll anticipate users’ needs, collaborate with the implementation team, and ensure that the final product is useful, intuitive and delightful to use.

You will:
• Work with Senior UX Designers on key initiatives
• Lead role in designing interactive solutions that address business and brand requirements, technical constraints, research findings, and the audience’s processes, tasks and goals.
• Lead role in designing and maintaining storyboards and mockups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Write user interface specifications to describe functionality and use case scenarios
• Develop interactive prototypes with compelling user experiences
• Front-end application development using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and XAML
• Work with developers to ensure that designs can be implemented and to ensure integrity during implementation
• Usability testing including creating task lists, observing users, compiling feedback and findings, making recommendations, and producing reports
• Research competitors, latest tools, methodologies, practices and trends
• Set goals, provide direction, oversee design work and communicate feedback to other designers to ensure high quality, best practices, and project goals are met

So are YOU our next UX Designer? You are if you have…
• Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
• 2+ years in UX design or product design
• An aptitude for being a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
• Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in User experience or a related field (Human-computer interaction (HCI), psychology, sociology etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Figma, Miro and other design tools (e.g. UXPin, Axure, Sketch, Adobe suite)
• Ability to support projects from conception through completion
• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced Agile environment
• Curiosity, continuous learning and an open-minded attitude
• Strong knowledge in design systems and accessibility standards
• Experience working with other design disciplines such as UX research, content design, and visual design
• Ability to develop and communicate UX design guidelines and design specifications
