Assistant Research Officer/ Research Officer (holding the functional title of Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 526709)

Duties and Responsibilities
• Work on a project on the development of e-platform for social services
• Play a versatile role in leading team for assisting in the development of CRM
• Plan, execute and monitor the development of the project
• Conducting professional training for the users
• Oversee data collection and management
• Liaise with funding bodies and external parties
• Supervise research staff and research interns
• Prepare manuscripts and reports
• Developing new research initiatives
• Perform other duties as... assigned

• a Ph.D. degree / a Master’s degree with at least 10 year’s relevant research and project management experience, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health, Public Health, or related disciplines
• a strong sense of responsibility
• a high level of communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English
• the ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines
• attentive to details
• independent research skills and capability
• experience in overseeing, coordinating the implementation of a large-scale research projects, and intervention research is preferred
• familiarity with the local social welfare system with experience working with social workers and managing intervention research projects as an advantage

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10-15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries. Those with other higher degrees and substantial research experience in relevant areas may be considered for appointment as Research Officer.
