Improving the Quality of Primary Education Program (EQPEP) is a USAID funded program designed to work with the Ministry of Education, the Regional State and City Administration Education Bureaus and Teacher Education Institutions to improve the quality of primary education in Ethiopia. The Academy for Educational Development (AED) is responsible for implementing the program. USAID-IQPEP seeks an experienced and qualified person to fill the following positions. The positions are to be filled as soon as possible.

Length of the Program: IQPEP is a Five-year program

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the IQPEP Teacher Development Team and in cooperation with... the RSEB, WEOs and TEIs, manage and facilitate the implementation of the large-scale IQPEP teacher development programs in the region in both pre-service teacher education and in-service teacher professional development
- Conduct needs assessments to identify capacity-building needs in pre-service and in-service teacher development
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of the program including data collection, analysis and feedback
- Work with the RSEB to strengthen to manage the implementation of the school-and cluster-based professional development program
- Facilitate programs in both pre-service and in-service teacher development that emphasize active learning, continuous assessment, the development of higher-order thinking skills in students
- Facilitate the linkage program between the teachers’ colleges and primary schools
- Participate in the development of training materials
- Organize and supply the Cluster Resource Centers
- Work with the TEIs to develop Centers of Excellence in the Colleges
- Assist the TEIs to develop or strengthen Staff Development Units and implement staff development activities that will improve the effectiveness of teacher educators
- Work with the TEIs as well as the Cluster Resource Centers to introduce and promote the use of technology to improve the quality of education
