The Opportunity:

Make your mark while you grow your career! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Range Mine Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing mining strategies for long-term operational success. This position involves utilizing advanced planning software, geological data, and engineering principles to develop comprehensive plans that align with the company's goals and industry regulations.
• Job location: Calgary, Alberta
• Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8 hours/day
• Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
• Develop and optimize long-range mine plans, considering economic, environmental, and safety factors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, surveyors, and environmental specialists, to integrate diverse perspectives into planning strategies
• Utilize mine planning software to create accurate models and... simulations for various mining scenarios
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate mine plans and strategies to stakeholders, including management and regulatory authorities
• Monitor and assess mining operations against the established plans, recommending adjustments as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and legal requirements in all planning activities

What You Bring to the Role:
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
• Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer, or eligible to register
• 4+ years of open pit mining experience; previous experience in oil sands mining preferred with experience in long range mine planning
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Vulcan, Deswik, or similar tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and environmental standards
