About Us

We are Australian Spatial Analytics, an award-winning non-profit social enterprise creating data solutions for an inclusive workforce. We exist to employ neurodiverse individuals previously locked out of employment to provide B2B professional data & digital engineering services to Federal and State Government Departments and Medium & Large enterprises.

In 2021, we won the Diversity Employer of the Year - Women in Digital Award and, more recently, the... 2022 Lord Mayor's Business Award for Most Outstanding Social Enterprise.

Our team is comprised of over 100 people across three offices: our head office in Brisbane, 2nd office in Melbourne and our 3rd office in Cairns. This makes us one of Australia's largest work-integrated social enterprises (WISE), and we're only 3 years old!

Learning & Development at ASA

At ASA, we’re passionate about employing young neurodiverse adults and supporting their development. To date, the majority of this has occurred via on-the-job project training from our Service Delivery team members and workplace readiness coaching via our People Success Officers.

Moving forward, we seek to build and deliver a more structured program of learning to the team that also encompasses both professional and leadership skills training in addition to their technical skill development. Additionally, with the implementation of our HRIS system, we seek to utilise the learning management system as a tool to support the team’s development and track progress.

Although you may support the development of technical skill programs related to Geospatial and Digital Engineering, these programs will continue to be delivered by our Service Delivery team members in addition to industry partners, TAFEs and Universities.

About the Role

This new role sits within our supportive People & Impact Team, reporting to our Chief People Officer.

As the Learning and Development Manager, you will lead the development of our learning program, responsible of the analysis, design and development of learning initiatives. This will include the facilitation of some workshops across our distributed offices.

You will be passionate about and utilise a strength-based and collaborative approach drawing on evidenced-based research and/or your experience working within the neurodiverse community.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a unique blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution. You are an innovative thinker, unafraid to challenge norms and bring fresh perspectives to the table.

Key Accountabilities
• Evaluate individual and the organisational development needs
• Create and execute learning strategies and programs to support the team’s overall leadership & capability development, partnering with internal team members and external providers
• Partnering with HR, develop approaches to employee development, retention and onboarding by refining or creating employee development paths, succession planning and learning opportunities as appropriate
• Produce and/or source training materials for workshops and online learning
• Negotiate and manage external L & D supplier contracts
• Manage L&D expenditure, ensuring all strategies are financially feasible and presenting activity reports to the executive team

Required Skills & Experience
• Proven training and L&D experience, minimum 4 years ideally within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
• Instructional design and facilitation experience in both face to face and virtual settings
• Solid understanding of key Organisational Design/L&D principles/models
• Familiarity with training design, delivery and psychometric tools.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Technically adept, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build authentic connections with stakeholders
• Relevant tertiary/ qualification in HR, Psychology and/or Training and Assessment however we value experience over accreditation
