How our technical writer will make an impact

The technical writer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for our products. This is a part time role (% to be agreed).
• Create high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Gather information from subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct independent research to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a diverse audience.
• Update existing documentation to reflect product updates, changes, and improvements, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and customer support, to gather information and ensure documentation aligns with product features and specifications.
• Develop a deep understanding of the target audience, their needs, and use cases to create user-friendly and accessible documentation.
• Maintain a centralized repository for all documentation, ensuring easy access and version control for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate the current documentation development process, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting innovative approaches.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and industry standards in the telecommunications domain to ensure the documentation remains current and relevant.

Ideal candidate
• Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, communications, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in the telecommunications or related industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, grammar, and consistency in documentation
• Strong understanding of telecommunications concepts, technologies, and products, such as networks, protocols, telephony, data transmission, and wireless communication.
• Ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts, processes, and specifications related to telecommunications products and services.
• Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, building relationships and effectively communicating with stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, grammar, and consistency in documentation.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A portfolio of previous technical writing samples showcasing your ability to create clear and user-friendly documentation.
• This role is located in the Netherlands. Please note that only applicants with a valid legal working visa will be considered for this position.
