jobs description

Quantium

Founded in 2002, Quantium combines the best of human and artificial intelligence to forge a better, more insightful world. Our solutions make sense of what has happened and what will, could or should be done to reshape industries and societies around the needs of the people they serve

Through our partnership with the Woolworths Group, we’ve created a new business called wiq who will harness the best of Woolworths Group and Quantium to reimagine retail by solving the most complex problems using data and analytics. As a team, we leverage Agile ways of working to help our team develop their skills while also making sure our team is focusing on solving the most complex problems for both our customers and team

This role is Auckland based, supporting wiq use cases for Woolworths NZ (previously Countdown). It is also part of our wider wiq team, with offices across Australia and NZ. This enables us to bring specialist retail expertise alongside local knowledge to deliver high... quality outcomes for Woolworths NZ

The Role

Within Wiq, you will:

· Work on industry “firsts” – retail has more opportunity to leverage datasets and advanced analytics for new projects than other industries

· Work on impactful, high-value projects across different domains, from promotions and pricing, supply chain, people analytics, last-mile optimisation (plus some others that we’re not disclosing just yet)

· Provide ongoing support to evolve longer term projects, ensuring you get to see the outcomes of your work

· Sit in agile squads to deliver projects and work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to drive outcomes

· Have exposure to a range of exciting projects, such as building decision engines that feed back into the business

· Deliver high quality analytics, from scoping, data quality assessment, data manipulation, method selection, model building, insights generation and visualisation

· Proactively participate in learning forums and sharing knowledge with the broader wiq team in Australia and NZ

Experience and education required

We’re looking to hire a Senior Insights Analyst who wants to grow their career and develop their analytical, technical, and commercial capability.

We know people are not bullet points, but we would expect you to have:
• A technical degree, such as Actuarial, Maths/Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, and Tableau / PowerBI / Google Looker Studio
• Experience using data to drive decisions and influence stakeholders
• Experience building predictive models in a commercial environment is advantageous, but not essential
• Experience in a similar role; extracting meaningful insights from large, complex, customer or transactional data sets
• A collaborative style and the ability to work with and positively influence a variety of people across all levels and functions will see you succeed

What’s in it for you
This role will provide you with your own career path development opportunities. We are an open, high achieving and collaborative team where we encourage our people to be themselves and share our superpowers. Our flat structure means that we can move fast with care, whilst ensuring we implement initiatives that drive for impact.

• Reach for remarkable: We respectfully challenge the status quo, with courage, passion and discipline. Keeping our eyes on the details, while making space to set sights on the dream.
• Share our superpowers: We recognise, value and celebrate what makes each and every one of us unique. Sharing our strengths, and helping others discover theirs makes for a better team.
• Balance tomorrow with today: We are measured and insightful, weighing both short and long term trade-offs in our decision making. Thoughtfully considering the needs of our team, our partners, and our ethical role in society.
• Drive for impact: We own the responsibility to deliver tangible value to our partners and clients. Taking the time to build strong relationships, we deliver a positive impact on the world
