OVERVIEW

PlaySide, Australia’s largest independent games company is on the hunt for an innovative Community & Social Manager to lead us in managing, coordinating, and executing our community & social strategy for new and existing games. Your mission is to engage and understand the player.

In this role, you’ll support the management of PlaySide's community & social channels, working closely with cross-functional teams, external partners and business stakeholders to define, develop, and execute initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Support direct, active, player-facing engagement and communications for PlaySide brands on digital channels: Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Steam, Reddit, Imgur etc.
• Work with key stakeholders to help build and define community and social strategy.
• Support the end-to-end management and campaign delivery for social media, video content, and video streaming channels for PlaySide's brands and products across platforms to support... all marketing and communications plans and objectives.
• Drive the production of social copy and content (articles, videos, static), by creating original content or briefing Creative Services team when necessary.
• Own calendar planning and scheduling of content for owned channels.
• Support the performance measurement, analysis and reporting for social channels and content, to inform internal stakeholders and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Support video content production (including filmed video content, streaming, and on-location shoots) across all PlaySide brands.
• Be a key stakeholder in helping to build, nurture, communicate with and represent our online communities.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive set of community guidelines and policies.
• Cultivate a sense of trust, care, well-being, inclusiveness, and belonging in the community.
• Monitor community health and produce reports on relevant issues and outcomes.
• Manage any difficult situations within the community with tact and to escalate when appropriate.
• Represent the voice of our community in cross-departmental communications, sharing trends, pain points, and sentiments.
• Ensure all player inquiries are handled in an appropriate amount of time.
• Weekly reporting on highest priority issues from the community perspective, sentiments and verified accounts. This will be done through synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information from players and game data.
• Consult on game releases and community management requirements across the organization.
• Support broader marketing initiatives where required, like events and influencer engagement.
• Support influencer talent identification, outreach, and campaign management for all PlaySide brands, and develop and maintain relevant creator lists for each project and brand.
• Stay up to date on cultural and social media trends, and gaming, (e)sports, media & entertainment news, and other industry leaders, and share learnings, insights and best practices with the broader Marketing & Communications team, and key internal stakeholders on a regular basis.

What You Bring To The Role
• Strong understanding of content and community platforms.
• Understanding of community-management strategies.
• Experienced running social and community campaigns to engage new and old players.
• Comfortable with interacting on all relevant online platforms or happy to learn.
• Strong multimedia content creation skills.
• Be able to use video editing tools (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Rush/Premiere Pro) to a satisfactory level.
• You can interpret and present findings and insights from quantitative and qualitative sources for the game team to communicate what is important to players.
• Empathy, you understand community feedback and will put yourself in their mindset and drive actionable decisions based on it.
• Passionate about being a community and player advocate with a willingness to go the extra mile to serve our gamers.
• You are driven by an ownership mentality and go-getter attitude. You govern your areas of responsibility proactively and reliably. You’ll pick the locks and tear down the walls that stand between you and your goals.
• Excellent teamwork and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization and with outside groups.
• You are able to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment; highly organized, with the ability to work with multiple teams in different countries.

• Maturity to prioritize and understand where to introduce new processes without slowing things down.
• A strong generalist, you can seamlessly shift gears between different working styles and regularly learn new processes.
• Passion for gaming, lifestyle, pop-culture, and the entertainment industry.
