Saint John of God Liffey Services, provides a network of education, training, employment, respite and community living supports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Kildare and Dublin. _ Senior Grade Psychologist Full Time Hours (35 hours per week) (Specified Purpose: 12 months) Applications are invited for the post of Senior Grade Psychologist on permanent full-time basis. The successful applicant will provide psychological services to adults with all levels of Intellectual Disabilities across North Kildare and West Dublin. Location Base: Celbridge, Co. Kildare or Islandbridge, Dublin The Role : ***The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of effective, efficient and person -centered psychological and compassion focused support for people with an intellectual disability in conjunction with the Liffey Services Psychology Department. This will include psychological supports for individuals with behaviours of concern, mental... health issues, development of resilience skills and those with dementia. The role involves provision of training and supports to staff and carers of adults with an ID, supervision of trainee psychologists and the opportunity to engage in research. Hold a minimum QQI Level 8 qualification in Psychology Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Education Psychology Or A minimum of 5 years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which is spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the office. Demonstrate competence in working with adults with intellectual disabilities. Must be eligible to work in Ireland. Full Clean License and access to own vehicle Desirable Criteria : A focus on person centred and compassionate practice with individuals with an intellectual disability. Experience of providing psychological supports to adults with an intellectual disability encountering challenges with mental health and wellbeing, dementia and behaviours of concern. Experience of working effectively with teams, consulting with families and other professionals An interest in participating and/or undertaking research in the area of intellectual disability.
