Position Overview

This role is reporting into the Vice President, Finance. The position is responsible for the management reporting of TDS business lines. The position acts as a primary contact to a variety of key TDS stakeholders for management reporting, business partnering, advice and analysis.

Conduct regular, ongoing analysis, evaluation and review of business performance and initiatives against established reference points (e.g. plan, forecast, prior year, business cases) as directed.

Responsible for daily PnL reporting to TDS Management for the Europe and Asia Pacific (EAP) region.

Responsible for the monthly and quarterly analysis of expenses, headcount and valuation adjustments related to the TDS businesses. This includes financial variance commentary as well as tax analysis/ investigations.

Take an active role in the monthly tax transfer pricing meetings, identifying current issues and actively contributing to their resolution.

Expected to continuously develop value added management reporting and build a fundamental understanding of business strategies and the impacts and drivers of financial results for TD Securities.

Provide ad hoc finance support to Front Office and Executive partners, including meeting with them and presenting results for their business.

Provide ad hoc support to wider Finance department, which may include responding to information requests from our Regulators.

Role Requirements

The position requires a continuous focus on establishing working relationships with Trading Business Management, Market Risk Control, Capital Markets Risk Management, FinOps and Toronto Finance teams to ensure the teams are up to speed on changes to the Regional (EAP) businesses and can provide advice when required.

Intermediate understanding of capital markets and the products and businesses that Global Markets & Corporate and Investment Banking conducts business in.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently when required.

Proven track record of implementing value-added process improvements to increase shareholder value and improve guidance to senior management.

Ability to demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.

This position is also responsible for contributing to a variety of TDS & Corporate segment projects and analysis under the direction of management.

Education/ Other Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Business or Finance

High level proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Alteryx Knowledge would be an asset.

Understanding of the Bank’s management and financial reporting processes.

Independent individual who can efficiently manage expectations/concerns through strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge of the Bank’s financial reporting system (i.e. Knowledge of Hyperion/PSGL and prior experience in running Hyperion queries is preferred).

Demonstrates excellent judgment and professionalism when dealing with various internal clients.

Proactive in making recommendations to improve processes and the working environment.
