Business Investment Consultant

Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq

6 Month Contract

Overview:

We are seeking a seeking an experienced Investment Consultant to join our team in establishing and optimizing investment strategies for our holding company and its 13 subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment management, with extensive knowledge of the Middle East region. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in maximizing returns on investment and driving long-term value creation across our diverse portfolio of businesses.

Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis and Due Diligence:

Conduct in-depth analysis of investment opportunities in various sectors and markets, including equities, fixed income, real estate, and alternative investments.

Perform comprehensive due diligence to assess the financial viability, risk profile, and potential returns of prospective investments.

Portfolio Management and Optimization:

Develop and implement... investment strategies to optimize portfolio performance and achieve desired risk-adjusted returns.

Monitor portfolio performance, asset allocation, and market trends, making strategic adjustments as necessary to capitalize on emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.

Asset Allocation and Diversification:

Recommend asset allocation strategies and diversification techniques to ensure a balanced and resilient investment portfolio.

Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities to enhance diversification and reduce concentration risk.

Deal Structuring and Negotiation:

Structure and negotiate investment deals, including equity investments, debt financing, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

Collaborate with legal and financial teams to ensure that investment agreements are well-structured and aligned with company objectives.

Strategic Advisory Services:

Provide strategic guidance and advisory services to company leadership and stakeholders on investment opportunities, market trends, and industry developments.

Conduct feasibility studies and strategic assessments to support decision-making processes and identify growth opportunities.

Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, business partners, and industry experts.

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and partners, providing insights and recommendations to support their investment objectives.

Policy and Procedure Development:

Create policies and procedures for the investment department of the holding company, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Establish clear guidelines and protocols for investment selection, due diligence, portfolio management, and risk management processes.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Work closely with subsidiary leadership teams to align investment strategies with overall corporate objectives and growth plans.

Provide strategic guidance and support on capital allocation decisions, asset allocation strategies, and investment priorities.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of investment portfolios and individual assets.

Prepare regular reports and updates on investment performance, market conditions, and emerging opportunities for senior management and the board of directors.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the First Six Months:

Completion of Investment Analysis and Due Diligence: Conduct thorough analysis and due diligence on at least three investment opportunities within the first two months of employment.

Development of Investment Strategies and Policies: Develop and finalize investment strategies and policies for the holding company and its subsidiaries within the first three months, incorporating market analysis, risk assessment, and strategic objectives.

Implementation of Portfolio Management Framework: Implement a portfolio management framework, including asset allocation strategies and diversification techniques, by the end of the third month.

Execution of Investment Initiatives: Execute investment initiatives aligned with corporate strategy and objectives, including capital allocation decisions and asset acquisitions, within the first four months.

Alignment of Investment Strategies with Subsidiary Goals: Ensure alignment of investment strategies with subsidiary goals and growth plans by the end of the fifth month, through collaboration and consultation with subsidiary leadership teams.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish KPIs and metrics to track investment performance and prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and the board of directors by the end of the sixth month.

Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment management, with a proven track record of success in managing diverse investment portfolios.

Extensive knowledge of financial markets and investment products, with specific expertise in the Middle East region.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform complex financial analysis and risk assessments.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present investment strategies and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and alignment towards common investment objectives.

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred
