Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Lab Information Systems Manager/TH Associate Technical Director. The successful candidate will:
Coordinate Laboratory Information Systems and serve as a liaison with campus Information Systems Department. Manage the maintenance and trouble-shooting of the Cerner, Co-Path, Document Control, Point-of-Care Testing Databases, and Systems Hardware. Upgrade and support additional software revisions and hardware, including Blood Bank, HLA Co-Path Anatomic system, reference laboratory interface, and other Laboratory Operational Databases. Prepare statistical reports for benchmarking and operational improvements. Ensure compliance with laboratory reporting requirements to Regulatory Agencies. Maintain Laboratory Information Systems compliance records. Ensure that Laboratory Information System Procedures and Policies are adequate and meet the needs of the Hospital. Assist in the implementation of upgrades of the Hospital Information System.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, physical or biological science.

Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP certification. A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License. Experience with Cerner Laboratory Information System.

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL 5

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
