An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join a dynamic team in Auckland CBD. This role offers the chance to utilise your accounting expertise within a supportive and inclusive environment, where you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of accounting activities.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, engage with key stakeholders, and play a crucial role in the financial management of our North Island operations.

What you'll do:

As an Accountant, you will be instrumental in assisting the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely accounting processing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing the finance function of our North Island operations, preparing monthly... management accounts, assisting with statutory reporting processes, and carrying out general ledger reconciliations. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancement projects. Your ability to maintain and provide information for ad-hoc projects will be highly valued.
• Assist with the management and control of the finance function of the North Island villages
• Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with statutory reporting process
• Monitor and reconcile daily general ledger transactions
• Carry out monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with daily and monthly Treasury tasks
• Involve in continuous improvement and system enhancement projects
• Maintain and provide information to assist management with ad-hoc projects
• Perform various accounting support tasks as required

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings proven accounting experience with demonstrated successful outcomes. You possess a commercial/financial understanding that enables you to effectively manage financial functions. Your ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential for success in this role. While qualifications in accounting are preferred, we also value experience. A good understanding of the Retirement Industry, excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a solutions-focused approach are all key attributes that you bring.
• Proven accounting experience with demonstrated successful outcomes
• Commercial/financial understanding

• Qualified accountants preferred or by experience
• Good understanding of Retirement Industry
