The Group is currently ranked second in the world for nuclear engineering.Job DescriptionThe successful applicant will join our expanding... organisation as the Senior Environment Health and Safety Adviser (EHS), working from our offices in Blackburn or alterntively our newly refurbished offices at Aztec West in Bristol.Undertake day-to-day Health & Safety activities in AEIL and associated partners.Promote a strong HSEQ culture across the business.Support Responsible Health & Safety Officers with their activities and respond to queries.Maintain relevant HSEQ policies and procedures.Delivery regular comms around areas relevant to our activities.Carry out regular internal auditing against ISO9/14/45001.Support with external audits of the IMS.Support all business units with resolving any non-conformances relating to ISO9/14/45001.Design and deliver continuous improvement projects.Conduct and review risk assessments for all areas of the business activities.Manage EHS risk register and legal register.Work with the Bid team to provide responses related to EHS.Create and maintain a catalogue of relevant safety shares.Monitor and respond to incidents and accidents through our internal reporting system.Monitor and respond to DSE assessments.Produce monthly H&S reports related to accidents/near misses/incidents/observations.Ensuring legal compliance across all office sites with regards to national legislation.Assist in the completion of accredited body memberships such as Construction Line.Advise the HSEQ leadership team of upcoming changes or consultations on legislation which might affect the business.Support the business with the Switch to Impact strategy.QualificationsThe successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:ISO45001 lead auditor qualified.CertIOSH working towards chartered membership.High level of understanding of relevant health and safety legislation.Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the nuclear, transport infrastructure, rail, construction or energy services.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft 365.Willingness to travel to sites across the UKFrench speaking would be desirable, but not essentialAdditional InformationAssystem offer a range of benefits including:25 days of annual leave + bank holidays.Buy and sell annual leave to make your time off work for you.8% company pension contributions, income protection and 3x salary payout for death in service for peace of mind.Rest easy when unwell: competitive sick pay to support you during difficult times.Healthcare cash-plan to get money back on dental, medical, physical care.Free access to our digital gym with expert-led classes.Discounts for restaurants, days out, and your favourite high-street brands.24/7 confidential employee support line for counselling, financial advice, and mental health support.Cycle to work scheme for a healthier, greener commute!Free flu jab and eye test vouchers.Get professional and industry membership fees paid for!Volunteer days to help colleagues make a positive impact.Please note: Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK BPSS security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum BPSS level.We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company.
