FullStack Developer (.NET) - Want to work for a leading cutting-edge technology and software development arm of one of the longest established businesses within Gibraltar?

My Client are part of a larger group of businesses with over 200 years experience trading within various industries.

The team cover both software development and more conventional IT in the form of a managed services provider (MSP). On the software side, the team specialise in bespoke digital transportation solutions often to complex data rich problems.

They serve the wider group and a range of organizations in Gibraltar who value expert IT support to complement their teams.

Due to expansion my client are looking fora Mid-Senior Software Engineer.

You will form part of a small and dynamic team focusing exclusively on the design, development, testing and maintenance of bespoke software systems. You will demonstrate a passion for good design and coding practices, and a desire to develop new cutting-edge... solutions, whilst maintaining the highest levels of performance and security.

Software engineers are expected to have a background or experience in software architecture and design, and product and project management skills all within an agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Researching, designing and writing new software programs

• Enhance existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for improvement

• Work closely with analysts, developers, customers, and end users

• Produce detailed technical and functional specifications

• Use test driven development, acceptance and regression tests to ensure feature quality in controlled, real situations before going live

• Maintain the systems once up and running through monitoring, performance optimisation and correcting software bugs etc.

• Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through self-learning, investigating new technologies, and accessing new applications.

Requirements

• 5+ years developing back/mid office business systems, and consumer facing web-based applications

• An understanding of business, business processes and commercial awareness

• Proficient in modern software architecture and design patterns

• Proven software development experience using either MEAN stack or Microsoft .NET Frameworks/Core

• Understanding of responsive design frameworks

• Excellent relational database skills preferably with Azure SQL or Microsoft SQL Server

• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments

• Experienced in GIT version control and JIRA project tracking software

• Awareness of modern Software Development methodologies

• Working within standard DevOps processes & procedures

• Understanding of common web security threats and vulnerabilities, and how to reduce their risks • Knowledge of Information Security best practices

• Strong communication skills

• A meticulous and organised approach to work with an eye for detail and identifying problems

• Logical, analytical and creative approach to meeting user and system requirements

• Ability to manage and lead a team to meet project milestones and client deadlines

• Mentor junior team members, conduct peer reviews and assess code quality

Advantageous

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject an advantage

• Automated testing using a variety of MS Test, NUnit, CodedUI, Selenium and Jasmine would be useful.

Salary up to £45,000pa plus flexible working hours and only a minimum of 1 day a a week in the Gibraltar office required.
