Job Description:

The Anglican International School Jerusalem (AISJ), a prestigious and diverse international learning community in the heart of Jerusalem, is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Humanities Teacher to join our team starting in mid-August 2024. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rich educational tradition, delivering high-quality teaching in Humanities to Middle and High School students within a dynamic international environment.

Position Overview:

As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of students aged 11-18, utilizing innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire a diverse student body. This role also includes responsibilities as a homeroom teacher, offering guidance and support to students throughout their educational journey at AISJ.

Key Responsibilities:
•... Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating and student-centered Humanities lessons.
• Engage students from a variety of cultural and educational backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Implement and adapt the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programs curriculum, particularly in Humanities and History, to meet the needs of all students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Serve as a homeroom teacher, providing pastoral care and support to students.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, ensuring they are informed of student progress and involved in the school community.
• Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, and the broader school community.

Essential Criteria:
• A committed and practicing Christian, aligning with the school’s ethos and values.
• A qualified teacher with a strong academic background in Humanities or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering IB Diploma and Middle Years Program Humanities curriculum preferred.
• Proven ability to teach and engage students across multiple grade levels (11-18 years old).
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships in a multicultural setting.
• A deep understanding and sensitivity to the diverse cultural and religious backgrounds of our student body.
