Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Care for, assess and monitor the health of newborns and refer infants to appropriate medical services as required. Manage labour and spontaneous normal deliveries. Provide advice and guidance regarding care for newborns and young infants. Provide primary, full-course, care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-natal period including monitoring the health of mother and baby. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Client focus. Excellent oral communication. Values and ethics. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
