Mechanical Design Engineer – Galway –0316- May-2021

Due to their continued growth and expansion we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Engineering group.

Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to Irish industry and around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business in Ireland for over 7 years and in Seattle in the US for over 19 years.

Job Role:

Within this role, you will join a highly skilled group of project engineers specializing in machine design, automation and project management. The successful candidate will... be responsible for the mechanical design of projects and be actively involved in all stages from procurement right through to the equipment delivery ensuring all URS functionality is met. This position must be filled by an ambitious person capable of thriving in a hardworking environment.

The role will involve the successful candidate carrying out the following responsibilities:
• Contribute to all stages of the project from the initial proposal through to equipment delivery
• Design the requested equipment to customer requirements and expectations
• Complete component specification to satisfy the design requirements
• Completion of equipment design reviews both locally and at customer locations
• Understanding of critical path items for both design and manufacture to meet project schedule
• Working closely with all internal engineering functions to ensure successful time and cost management of the entire project
• Successful time management skills are required whilst also managing the time associated with various tasks for all personnel assigned to the project team

What we are looking for:
• Minimum of FETAC Level 7 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a machine design role
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the use of both AutoCad and SolidWorks design packages
• Automation experience will be viewed as a key attribute
• Hands on building experience desirable
• Successful history of machine design from concept through to equipment delivery would be a distinct advantage
• An understanding of electrical and control systems would be a distinct advantage
