About the Job:

We are looking for a detail-oriented quality manager to ensure manufacturing production lines run smoothly and generate a consistently suitable output of products that meet quality and efficiency standards. The quality manager understands the customer's needs and requirements and coordinates employee efforts and communications between management and the production teams as well as to customers and suppliers when necessary. Your responsibilities will include performing some business administration and human resource duties.

To be successful as a quality manager, you should have excellent communication and listening skills, with strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You should understand regulatory compliance and be skilled in understanding scientific and technical data.

This position serves as the quality manager for the Weld-On facility including quality control and quality assurance. This person will train quality technicians and will oversee the testing and approval of daily production batches and the approval of bulk raw materials and qualification of new raw materials. Other responsibilities include ensuring adherence to quality specifications, compliance to safety, regulatory and environmental rules and regulations. This position oversees the lab workflow and helps maintain efficiency in the manufacturing operation. The quality manager is also expected to monitor and execute requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management system. A main priority is to complete the annual audit schedule covering all elements of the ISO 9001 standard and ensuring compliance through internal and surveillance audits.

Quality Control Manager Responsibilities:
• Gaining an understanding of the customer's needs and requirements and communicating them and the quality standards to the production teams.
• Devising ways to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods by working with Process Engineer, Maintenance, Engineering and production team.
• Provide daily production support including testing, adjusting and disposition of raw materials, products and packaging.
• Supervising inspectors, technicians, and other staff members and providing guidance.
• Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products.
• Works closely with R&D, plant management, production teams and EHS to ensure overall quality and safety of products produced and distributed from the Gardena Plant.
• Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them.
• Setting the requirements for raw materials from suppliers and monitoring their compliance.
• Maintains a close working relationship with operations management/supervision to ensure quality procedures are in force and that operators are trained in and understand the procedures and Control Plans.
• Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis.
• Manage customer complaints and lead efforts in identifying root cause and corrective action process.
• Facilitate required management review in support of ISO 9001 requirements.
• Maintains a compliant ISO 9001 QMS at the plant and executes other routine KPI tracking.
• Gaining feedback from customers, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors.
• Share best practices for meeting global product needs with other sites.

• A bachelor's degree in science or business-based programs required. Engineering preferred.
• At least 5 years experience in production or manufacturing.
• Bilingual: English/Dutch
• Ability to indirectly influence in order to achieve measurable results
• Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment
• Self-directed with a high sense of urgency and organized
• Driven by high expectations to deliver results and not “activity”
• Effectively articulates issues, facilitates their resolution and reports results orally and in writing to multiple levels in the organization
• Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of TPS/Lean tools including but not limited to: PSP (Paretos, RCCM, 5-Why’s, Action plans), VSM, Standard Work, Pull Systems, SIOP, Daily Management, 5S, Visual Management, 3P, SMED, Transactional Process Improvement, Variation Reduction Kaizen, etc. Danaher companies’ experience highly preferred.
• Fluency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Good technical and IT skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to sit and stand for long periods. Must be able to lift and move items or boxes up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be extended to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
