Serenity is an Award Winning, established, quality, private mental health organisation based in Sale, Manchester. Set in a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building with fire-place and open plan reception, our clinic setting offers a warm, welcoming and calming atmosphere for clients to begin their journey into better wellbeing. Serenity provides psychotherapy and counselling services to the community both online and face to face. We have a strong commitment to providing a high quality, professional service to our clients. Serenity is managed by Clinical Director Bobby Bradstock.

Serenity now has 4 clinics across the UK and has a small, dynamic team of 15+ therapists across the 3 sites. Our 3 values: Certified, Compassionate and Constructive, encourage a culture of support within our staff team, with many practitioners interacting frequently with each other around... their work and removing the isolation associated with private practice work.

We are looking for a committed, confident and dynamic individual to expand our services and are appointing a Child Counsellors/Psychotherapist to work as part of the Serenity team. Counsellor/Psychotherapist Roles and Responsibilities

Depending on your client load within Serenity there will be a number of responsibilities we expect you to fulfil.

- You will be required to conduct your own Assessments.

- You will work in an open-ended manner with clients.

- When client hours are less you will be asked to produce some written/audio/video material for the promotion of Serenity Psychotherapy.

- You may be invited to participate in online/f2f discussions promoting counselling and psychotherapy to the community.

- You will be expected to seek your own supervisor and maintain the correct number of supervision hours in line with your client load. Supervision contributions are not provided by Serenity Psychotherapy.

- Maintain BACP, UKCP or NCS Accreditation.

- Meet your own requirements for CPD where necessary. Serenity provide in house CPD opportunities 4 times per year and peer supervision groups each week which are both free of charge.

- You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the room between working hours ready for your colleague to enter.

- You will be responsible for informing the Lead Practitioner of any supplies that need restocking.

- Uphold a standard of personal wellbeing that allows them to be present and professional with their clients.

- You will be required to participate in individual supervision with your Lead Practitioner on a regular basis to monitor your experience.

- You will be required to provided a written bio and photograph (photograph arranged by Serenity Psychotherapy) prior to your start date for marketing purposes.

- A full case load will be 10 clients per week (where this occurs you will be allocated overtime as WRH to complete paper work and attend management supervision and team meetings.

Serenity Roles and Responsibilities

- As an organisation we will seek and arrange all clients on your behalf.

- Your calendar will be managed by our Clinical Reception Team in line with your negotiated working hours.

- All equipment and paperwork will be provided. Any additional suggestions are always welcome.

- You will have full access to the staff room for preparing meals and drinks.

- If you are concerned about your work with a client you have been allocated please inform the Lead Practitioner as soon as possible and we can look at moving them to a different practitioner if necessary. If you have concerns regarding safeguarding please contact your supervisor as a first port of call, then your lead practitioner second. Please refer to Serenity Psychotherapy Policies and Procedures for detail on this process.

Education:

Diploma

Master’s

Experience:

Psychotherapy or Counselling: 1 year minimum post Qualification

Licence/Certification:

HCPC, UKCP or BACP, NCS (essential)

Hours – Part-time:

Saturday 9am till 2pm

Rate of Pay: £23 to £33 per hour depending on years of experience. Company Pension Contributions, Holiday Pay, NI Contributions. Zero Hour Contract with potential for Salaried Contract after 6 month probation.
