Vacant Position: Procurement Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, track payments and ensure adherence to contractual agreements.
2. Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis to optimize spending, identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance efficiency in the procurement process.
3... Supplier/vendor Performance Evaluation: contribute to the assessment of vendor performance by providing financial insights and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure optimal supplier relationships.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with procurement activities, implementing controls to safeguard against fraud or financial discrepancies.
5. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance procurement accounting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and overall effectiveness.
6. Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights into procurement expenditures, trends, and variances.
7. Budgeting and Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of annual procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals and organizational objectives.
8. Audit Support: Facilitate internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and organized financial records and addressing any audit- related inquiries.
9. Financial Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with financial regulations, internal policies and external standards, minimizing financial risks and maintaining integrity in financial practices.
10. Supplier payment processing: Ensuring timely payments to suppliers through batch processing in the online banking system (S2B).
Skills experience and attributes
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance option
• CPA K will be an added advantage
• MUST possess 5+ years’ experience in similar position.
• Excellent knowledge in Microsoft excels.
• Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Focused on the activity or job at hand.
• Display good and sound judgment.
