Project Manager: Schools, Youth and Training

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our team.

The PM will lead strategy implementation for priority projects, focusing on environmental education for schools, youth, and training. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the agreed-upon budget, timeline, and scope.

Leading the core team and interns across Western Cape, Northern Cape and

Gauteng regions, ensuring project success, reporting and corporate governance

They will effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders.

Key Performance Areas:

Strategy Implementation
• Successful implementation of the strategy, focusing on excellence in delivering project outcomes and expansion and growth of the project.
• Managing existing strategic partnerships as well as identifying and building new ones in the interest of the project and organisation.
• Conducting field visits... workshops, and hosting funders in all nodes of the projects
• Leading and supporting the Project coordinators to improve efficiencies
• Working with WESSA Marketing and Communications to ensure effective and accurate public communications about the project.
• Resource development, where and when needed, for projects and the unit at large.
• Proposal writing to expand project.

Leadership
• Provide effective mentoring, management, and support to the team members in the Western Cape and in Gauteng as needed.

Project Reporting
• Compilation and submission of project reports (narrative and financial).
• Ensuring effective monitoring and accurate reporting to ensure quantitative and qualitative impact can be measured and reported on.

Corporate Governance
• Effect project management in terms of finances, implementation, and funder relations.
• Ensure all contractual requirements of the project are in order and in line with project obligations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
• Tertiary qualification in Environmental related field
• Valid drivers licence

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 2 – 5 years relevant experience , Project management and coordination in a field related to WESSA's core functions
• English fluency and literacy
• Excellent networking skills with the ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with track record of successful project implementation
• Excellent presentation skills
• An innovative team player with a proactive approach to problem solving.

PREFERRED:
• Fluency in Afrikaans

This position reports to the Programme Manager: Schools and Youth

SALARY: R 30 000
