This job is Senior Research Analyst in Consulting Service, this role is to design, manage and execute research and consulting projects and to deliver customers with critical and effective information based on Clarivate’s strong scientific DBs and expertise. This position’s responsibility is to mainly deliver Intellectual Property solutions to corporations in electronics or telecommunication, physics, chemistry, life-science, pharmaceutical, biology. Our consulting projects often include Technology landscaping analyses and patent portfolio evaluation based on big data analytics extracted from our DBs. Responsibilities of this position include all-customer facing activities ranging from presales, managing, executing through successfully delivering projects and post-sales/follow-up where appropriate.
We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our Consulting Service, IP Analytics, IP Services in Japan. This is an amazing opportunity to work on technology research based on DBs... of patent, literature, and drug. The team consists of 7 people and is reporting to Manager of Consulting Service. We have a great skill set in research method and data processing related to IP and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in patent analysis and technology background about life-science, pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
• Bachelor's degree in electronics or life-science, pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry, or related degree or at least 5 years of equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in R&D department or IP department, technology relating research and consulting.
• At least 3 year of experience reporting and presentation by using MS Office tools such as Power Point, Excel, Word.
• Business-level written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English and/or Chinese.
• Strong time management skills and dependable in completing quality projects against deadlines.
It would be great if you also had . . .
• Master's degree or PhD in life-science, pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry, or related degree.
• The experience of Patent search/Patent analysis (e.g., Prior art search, FTO search, IP landscaping, or IP competitive intelligence analyses) or Technology research.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• The experience working with large data sets or handling/analyzing large data sets.
• The experience making suggestions to R&D department as to area/tech to be further enhanced or in which file patents in alignment with IP/R&D strategy.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with stakeholders inside and outside a company.
What will you be doing in this role?
• Understand customers’ pain points and needs from technology and IP perspective, find the best-fit solution by fully utilizing Clarivate’s professional service capabilities and DB, integrating them, and then develop an attractive, efficient and strong proposal.
• Manage, lead and execute projects, delivering the best results to the customer within the set deadlines and budget by exercising leadership to project members and driving them.
• Conduct data intense analytical works and extract insights from the result of data analytics, compose report or create deliverables and then make strong presentations to customers mainly in Japan, but also in APAC.
• Work closely with Patent Search team, which is a fellow team of IP services specialized in patent search and IP analytics to create highly value-added deliverables.
• Develop new service and new analysis method base on Clarivate’s DBs
About the Team
IP analytics and consulting solution by Clarivate is very special and unique service in technological service market because Clarivate has own database, own data processing tool and Professional people as internal consultant.
In standard case, we work with 2-3 people for one project in 1-3 months and we often work with other service team together. Our customer mainly is manufacturing company and academic organization in Japan but sometimes we provide our service in global market.
Hours of Work
The team is working for delivery work and presales work and service development and team hours is JST (Japan standard time) - this is a permanent.
