We are recruiting a qualified Careers Consultants with extensive and recent experience of working in Higher Education with undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and graduates. You will be joining the... Careers+ service with a focus upon working with students from the Faculty Computing, Engineering and Built Environment (CEBE), although the faculties you work with may change overtime depending upon business need.

As a Careers Consultant, you will work with home and international students delivering group sessions and one-to-one appointments providing careers information, advice, and guidance to enable them to make informed career decisions and develop appropriate career strategies to compete in the job market. You will also provide proactive consultancy services to the faculty and service departments preparing students for the world of work through the development and delivery of innovative career management and employability skills initiatives.

You will be skilled in building successful professional relationships; developing, delivering, and measuring the impact of training programmes and initiatives; with experience of using technology to enhance and scale up service delivery. This role will suit a careers guidance professional who understands the career aspirations of students studying in the faculty.

As a key member of a Careers+ team you will work collaboratively with your Careers+ colleagues and faculty teams to achieve the best outcomes for students. The posts may involve line managing and supervising staff and experience in this area is desirable.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so, and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
