CityU Veterinary Medical Centre (CVMC), manages an extensive small animal clientele in Hong Kong. With our multicultural professional veterinarian and support staff, we are committed to uphold the highest medical standards and provide exceptional care for pets by our Primary Care, 24/7 Emergency department and Specialty Services including Dermatology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, as well as Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

We are the largest small animal medical centre in Hong Kong with over 35,000 sq ft which include 22 consultation rooms, a first-of-a-kind in... Hong Kong intensive care unit for animals, a cardiology suite, 7 surgical theatre suites, pharmacy and equipped with diagnosis and treatment, including 64-slice CT scanner, MRI system, digital radiography, ultrasound, colour doppler echocardiography, intra-operative fluoroscopy and endoscopy.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the running of theatre, patient preparation, and theatre schedule
• Assist our surgeon and specialists during surgical procedure
• Assist in developing and improving protocols relevant to theatre nursing duties
• Provide training to the general nursing staff in prep and sterilisation of equipment
• Ensure clinical standards in instrument and equipment sterilisation and technique are met
• Maintain records of equipment on backorder or off for repair

Qualifications:
• AIRC Certificate IV Qualifications as a veterinary nurse (above or equivalent). Overseas qualified individuals are also welcome
• Minimum of 2 years’ theatre nursing experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment
• Fantastic knowledge and skills in advance soft tissue, orthopaedic, maxillofacial, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and general surgeries
• Familiar with various surgical instruments and hardware, including Plasmax. Ligasure, KarlStorz, and even Olympus endoscope system
• Exceptional animal and client care standards
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• A flexible, friendly, and positive attitude
• Ability to work a roster which may involve day, evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts
• Able to provide guidance and mentoring to your fellow nurses and technician
• 4-day work week, 12 hours per day
