I have an AMAZING opportunity for 3 Children's Support Workers to join a children's residential service in Romney Marsh, Kent - supporting young people between the ages of 8-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Challenging Behaviours.

I'm looking to speak to individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people; you'll help them to grow, develop and flourish in an environment where they feel safe and cared for. Experience from within the health & social care sector would be very transferable!!

To be successful in this role, and to really get the most out of it, you must be committed and passionate, with the ability to engage, encourage and mentor the young people - whilst having loads of fun along the way!

No two days are ever the same, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but incredibly rewarding work!!

Salary: £27,400 - £29,000 (sleep allowance included)

Location: Romney Marsh, Kent

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week plus sleep ins (rolling rota pattern)

As a Children's Support Worker you will be responsible for;
• Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
• Keeping the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
• Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed.
• Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
• Providing support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
• Maintaining a safe environment for young people.
• Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up to date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
• Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements of becoming a Children's Support Worker;
• NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People is DESIRABLE
• Experience in a residential children's home environment is DESIRABLE
• Experience from within the health & social care sector is DESIRABLE
• Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you will be required to transport the children from time to time
