We are looking for an Web Designer to join our Marketing Team at Huws Gray Head Office - Pampisford!

If you’re in the trade or have ever tackled a home improvement project, you’ve probably heard of us. We’re the Huws Gray Group and we’re made up of a number of brands, including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI and Anglia Tool Centre to name a few. The Web Designer will report into the Digital Marketing Manager and a join a growing team of passionate Marketing professionals supporting the Huws Gray Group whilst working alongside our own team of developers as we enter into a phase of Digital Transformation.

We want to make every digital interaction with our customers as simple, and pain free as possible. We want you to help us remove all those barriers. You will... be responsible for understanding the business and customer requirements (but empathetic to the technical limitations) and translate these into digital journeys including user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes and designs that can then be passed to our internal development team.

You will be a skilled Web Designer with a passion for the web and UX. You will have previous experience in designing websites, digital assets and ideally apps.

Here’s a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as a Web Designer with Huws Gray:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions are aligned with business goals
• Present design solutions to help support marketing objectives (whilst adhering to brand guidelines)
• Solve user experience challenges across our websites, apps and any other digital interaction
• Identifying challenges in our customer journeys with proposed solutions and suggested metrics to gauge success
• Ensure you stay up to date with the latest UX / UI advancements and design trends
• Championing design and user experience every step of the way!
• Always challenging and asking “how can we make this easier for the end user?”
• Creating assets to be used in online campaigns, this could include email marketing assets, website and social media banners

We know that you are more than just a CV and embracing everyone’s individuality is what makes us great as a team. We can give you plenty of training and equip you with the tools that you’ll need to succeed as an Web Designer, however we're looking for someone who has proficient skills across the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite as well as experience in platforms such as Figma, Adobe XD or Sketch. If you have knowledge of HTML and other web development languages, this would also be beneficial.

• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
• Design and test prototypes, interfaces, and interactions
• Develop wireframes, flow diagrams, and user journeys
• Ability to present designs and discuss solutions with stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

This role is based at Pampisford, South Cambridgeshire (CB22 3HB). Hybrid working is available, and the team currently work to 3-4 Office / 1-2 Home, although this is flexible both ways with the priority being that the business needs are met. We ensure that we are all in the office on Mondays and Fridays where possible. Fully office based will be encouraged during the initial onboarding period and induction into the company.

From time to time, it may be necessary to travel to other locations for meetings which may require an overnight stay. (Fully expensed).
