Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Fabrication Specialist to join our dynamic team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

This position will support production with an emphasis on electrical for SLS Core Stage Integration at NASA’s Space System Processing Facility located in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:
• Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes.
• Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
• Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
• Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of a aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 1+ years’ electrical experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc.
• Experience with spacecraft manufacturing
• Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications
• Willing to work 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Experience working with Human Spaceflight hardware
• Familiar in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems
• 3+ years’ experience with electrical/ electronic troubleshooting, routing, torqueing, splicing, soldering, connector mating and bundle dressing on Spaceflight hardware
• Current electrical certifications / training
• Experience with the use of a calibration recall system
• Experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Familiar with the following standards: ISO / IEC 17025 and ANSI / NCSL Z540.1 / Z540.3 NASA Standard and J Standard certifications.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).


Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.


Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $46,750 – $63,250
