Position Overview
This is a Business to Business “hunter” role focused on outreach, prospecting, lead qualification, performing needs assessments and presenting service recommendations. We will provide training on how Keeran Networks supports the IT environments of small and medium businesses. Your role as a Business Development Representative is to connect with qualified leads who will make for good long term customer fits and connect them with our services.

The type of person who will succeed in this role is someone who can establish trust over the course of an extended sales process that may take place over weeks or months. Over the course of building that relationship you will identify the areas where Keeran Networks can have the biggest impact on a prospects business and present our offer accordingly.

As Keeran Networks is a company focused on strong growth targets you will have plenty of opportunity to sell to new clients, knowing that you have a service delivery engine behind... you capable of rising to the task. Keeran Networks has been the recipient of Canadian growth awards each of the last 3 years and is on track to repeat for a 4th time. Under this compensation structure, which includes a base salary plus a commission based on new clients, someone in this role would have received just under $40,000 in commission last year for achieving those results. The posted compensation range is based on a achieving a similar level of performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Establish first impressions with potential clients through cold-call, email, or in-person introductions
• Follow up on warm leads identified through marketing efforts
• Uncover prospective client’s needs, and relate them to Keeran Networks’ service offering
• Maintain all sales opportunities, activities, and update opportunity funnel daily in HubSpot
• Ensure all client and prospect details are kept accurate in HubSpot
• Meet company sales quotas
• Attend regular weekly and as necessary meetings with the Business Development Manager
• Attend company sponsored industry, charity, or educational events
• Attend company sponsored or third party sponsored training events
• Perform needs analysis, sales discovery, and interview business decision makers
• Collaborate with technical resources to ensure recommendations align with the prospects key business initiatives
• Create and/or present proposals, presentations, and necessary agreements for prospects
Important Skills
• Ability to perform public speaking and presentations on Keeran Networks products and services
• Willingness to visit client locations in and around the Greater Edmonton Area
• Interpersonal skills, such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
• You will have a very sharp focus on finding new clients, so you must have the energy, self-reliance, and tenacity to sweep and prospect within your market and rapidly build a compelling pipeline.
• Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
• Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
• Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of client request details
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
• Ability to keep up on necessary ongoing industry related news, technology, and training
Personal Attributes
• Strong and effective oral and written communicator
• The ability to work under pressure and to prioritize work effectively
• An ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
