Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the role of General Manager at a prestigious boutique hotel located in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

As a key member of the management team, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations to ensure the delivery of exceptional guest experiences and the achievement of financial objectives. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organization in one of East Africa's most desirable destinations.

Responsibilities:

Guest Relations and Operations
• Foster positive guest interactions and oversee daily operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Maintain high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the property.

Financial Management & Controls
• Manage financial aspects of the hotel, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures to optimize profitability.

General Administration... and Stock Control
• Oversee general administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Implement effective stock control measures to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Quality Assurance
• Uphold established standards of quality across all areas of the hotel.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality benchmarks.

HR Duties
• Manage human resources functions such as recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Foster a positive work environment conducive to employee growth and development.

Sales & Marketing
• Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the hotel and attract new guests.

Other
• Handle miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned by the Managing Director.
• Adapt to evolving priorities and contribute to the overall success of the hotel.

Salary Range: Competitive and Depending on Experience.

Requirements:

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Luxury 5-star experience in the Hospitality Industry
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Proficient in costings, budgets, and financial management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• At least a diploma in a related field.
• Clear criminal record.
• Experience in East Africa's hospitality industry.
• Fluency in Swahili or other European languages.
• Familiarity with CIMSO Innkeeper and current industry trends.
• Degree related to the hospitality industry.

Personality:
• Adaptable to diverse environments.
• Organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable interacting with high-level guests and hotel management.
• Leadership style focused on positive reinforcement and fairness.

Computer Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to learn and understand CIMSO Innkeeper for stock control and systems.
