PRIMED Medical Products is seeking a Senior Data Developer with four years of progressive experience to join the global Information Systems Team. This position is based in the Barbados office with close collaboration with team members across North America. You will administer and be accountable to ensure that all data provided to the organization is correct, reliable, accessible, and secure. This will enable secure, scalable, and efficient data analysis that enables business decision making. The Senior Data Developer will leverage their experience within business intelligence, data integration, industry best practices, and awareness of emerging technologies in their decision making to ensure PRIMED’s global team can make informed decisions in a highly competitive industry.

Your day to day:

You and the Data & Analytics team helps all areas of the organization through the development of timely... accurate and relevant information. Using cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory, the SDD will work to automate data integration from multiple sources to a cloud data warehouse. The SDD should have a passion for coaching, data and building innovative solutions and be familiar with cloud Data Warehousing best practices. The position is based in the Barbados office and may require travel internationally to our offices in Canada. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The following is a list of the high-level activities/deliverables and is not meant to be all-inclusive:

- Administer and maintain key data assets such as Microsoft (MS) Fabric or One Lake.

- Leverage MS Power Platform to automate manual processes and enhance data integration.

- Develop, test, and deploy data pipelines and cloud architectures using various tools and frameworks.

- Construct and administer fully automated, incremental ETL solutions using tools such as Fivetran, MS Fabric and One Lake.

- Integrate and validate data from multiple sources and formats, such as structured, unstructured, streaming, and batch data using tools such as MS Azure Data Factory.

- Design and implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

- Optimize data performance, scalability, and availability using cloud platforms and services.

- Create SQL scripts and leverage Power BI reports to create visualizations to answer complex business questions.

- Document data processes, workflows standards, and best practices.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data performance and integrity.

- Work with the Information Systems team to champion data governance, and stewardship in determining and evaluating the true source of information.

- Provide assistance and/or mentorship to junior team members.

- Undertake special projects and additional tasks as assigned.

Who you are:

The SDD will gain insights into the data from collaborating with team members across the organization in various roles. This understanding will ensure data accuracy and accessibility for analytics and decision-making.

- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Additional specialized study in analytical methods would be considered an asset.

- 4-6 years of demonstrated and measurable success in analyzing information and managing analytical projects.

- Expert level knowledge of the Kimball data warehouse architecture and best practices.

- Advance familiarity with MS Office suite and tools such as Excel, Power BI, MS Power Platform, SSMS and Fabric / One Lake.

- Proven knowledge of cloud Data Architecture best practices.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, and Spark languages. Additional languages such as Python, or R would be considered an asset.

- Strong track record for attention to detail and enthusiasm towards learning.

- Demonstrated excellence in analytical ability, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- A growth-oriented mindset that enables PRIMED to be a continued leader in the PPE market by practicing up to date skills in management, analysis, and leadership.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance deadlines and competing priorities.
