Principal Consultant – Pre Sales

Novon is a growing data consulting service business headquartered in Sydney.

Novon focuses on engaging our teams in Interesting and diverse projects with customers ranging from the largest local enterprises, SMEs’ and start-ups across retail and investment banking, utilities, media, and healthcare.

Due to a significant increase in our sales pipeline, we are looking to grow our Consulting and Advisory practice, adding Principal Consultants focused on technical presales activity supporting strategic engagement and advisory... services specific to data solutions. These positions will play a key role within the Novon Leadership Team and will be significant contributors to the success of the business.

As a strategic partner to the Sales Team, our Principal Consultants in Pre Sales are tasked with understanding customer requirements and propose tailored solutions, playing a key role in building customer confidence, addressing technical concerns, and winning sales opportunities. Additionally, our Principal Consultants partner with our Delivery team, working closely with the Director of Services & Delivery, to lead discussions that support the capability required to deliver on our client requirements. This role will lead and create cohesive technology solutions, bid estimates, responses, presentations, and SOW’s.

Responsibilities
• Lead the sales process from a technology perspective once an opportunity is identified
• Contribute to the sales bid process by responding to RFI’s & RFP, developing proposals and collateral
• Develop solutions and organises, plans, creates & delivers compelling proof of concept demonstrations
• Lead the response of the bid by identifying buyer values and leveraging Novon’s assets and case studies
• Work with our technical team to provide a differentiated and compelling solution. This includes reviewing the solution content, estimates and assumptions
• Benchmark solutions and estimates against previous bids
• Develop process methodologies and validation measures
• Collaborate with Director of Delivery & Services team to establish baseline expectations for project scoping and completion timelines
• Keeps abreast of market trends and product & competitor landscapes

Key Skills And Experience
• Strong technical background with proficiency in both traditional and modern data management concepts including data governance. Able to join the dots from legacy to the bleeding edge, advising on approach, benefits, cost, and value of proposed solutions.
• Highly experienced and proficient across all major distributed cloud environments. Examples: AWS, Azure, and or Google GCP
• Highly experienced and confident in advising on the benefits (pros and cons) of current generation of modern data services and their architectures. Examples: Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or MS Synapsis.
• Be abreast of latest data architecture techniques, frameworks and blueprints.
• Be abreast of the latest design and pattern data delivered techniques in particular for the unique vendor driven solutions in the markets of data warehousing, analytics, and data science.
• Highly proficient with a passion for data governance. Able to balance the need for governance with practical solutions that meet the customer's need.
• Broad technical experience, with a solid understanding in areas such as Integration, Application Development, DevOps, and Cyber Security.
• In-depth understanding of data driven solutions and the ability to effectively communicate their value proposition to potential clients.
• Proven experience in building and developing senior client relationships with strong experience in client-facing roles, such as pre-sales and solution consulting
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, technical or financial discipline or relevant field of study.
