What is the job?

If you have what it takes to manage our Purchasing Department, then join our amazing team at Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa as Purchasing Manager.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Ideally, you’ll have some or all of the following... competencies and experience we’re looking for:
• Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries accordingly to meet the hotel’s operational requirements.
• Provide input into the hotel’s operating budget based on forecasting and assessment of current purchasing levels.
• Maintain internal controls over the requisitioning and issuing of items; maintain purchase order system; direct the delivery of supplies to appropriate departments or storage areas; and ensure reports and records are updated and forwarded to the appropriate contact for payment, based on company and hotel policies and procedures.
• Monitor technological advancements, industry trends, and external legislation which affect contracts and recommend and implement changes.
• Manage and maintain hotel inventory levels.
• Minimize waste and maximize ration turnover of perishable items.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization in all work areas and storerooms.
• Purchase materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost.
• Performs a market survey on prices, discount rates and products.
• Constantly improve the quality and price of items through regular market intelligence.
• Support and drive the profit assurance plan.
• Follow up on the supplies and purchase orders.
• Open purchase order audit on monthly basis.
• Maintain minimum stock level and high inventory turnover.
• Monitor non-moving and slow moving items on regular basis.
• Initiate and drive Tender, Supplier Selection and product selection process.
• Vendors, key suppliers – to place orders, ensure product delivery schedules, discuss pricing or billing issues.

What we expect from you:
• Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance.
• 3-5 years’ experience in hotel accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Previous experience in Purchasing section.
• Very good command of English.
