What will you do?

Santam has a position of L&PD Specialist that may be based at our Head Office in Tygervalley or Alice Lane Sandton.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the science and the art of creating experiences that help learners fulfil the learning outcomes they desire are executed in a user-centred and goal-directed way.

The role fulfils the responsibility of a holistic and user-empathetic approach where they will have to employ the principles of learning, needs analysis, facilitation, design and development of learning materials, information architecture, and people analytics. Instead of focusing on disparate learning components (e.g. instructional design), they have to design keeping in mind the system as a whole. They have to create learning experiences ensuring that these align with strategic business goals.

What will make you successful in this role?

Ensuring that you build relationships with the respective business units to make sure that Santam Learning... material and digital assets are always maintained and updated. Working with the business to plan, action the realised training plans. Responsibilities include identifying the business training needs and developing programmes to meet the requirements. Ensure training curriculums are implemented and at an industry standard.
• Strategy: identifies the needs and goals of both the learner and the business units
• Requirements: define exactly what’s needed from content to logistics, in order to achieve the strategic objectives.
• Structure: establishes the flow of the learning experience by putting together the programme requirements in a way that suits the Learner best. Inclusive of storyboarding, wireframing and content mapping.
• Interaction: defines the way Learners experience the learning content, including activities, facilitation, and assessment(s). Research and benchmarking learning development on continuous basis.
• Stakeholder Engagement/Relationship Management: to identify business learning and development gaps, conduct needs analysis, and align learning material to the organisational needs to help meet learning objectives. Stakeholders including vendors, business partners and internal stakeholders.
• Design and Development of learning content: responsible for ensuring learning content is maintained in alignment with business changes.
• Sensory: sets the look and feel of the learning experience, including materials and communication.
• Training Delivery: Manage training delivery and learning facilitators. Ensure that SLA and key performance areas are continually reviewed, and expectations are met with optimum levels of quality and service delivery.

Manage project deliverables, plan and implement resources accordingly (inclusive of vendor management).

Qualification And Experience
• Relevant Diploma/Degree (National certificate: ODETDP)
• Santam Product knowledge required
• Minimum 5 years Curriculum design experience
• Short term insurance knowledge
• Facilitator, assessor and moderator
• Knowledge and experience of designing and developing content linked and aligned to SETA unit standards and qualifications.

• Excel
• PowerPoint
• Data analysis, interrogation, translation and manipulation
• Basic knowledge Authoring tools (Adobe Captivate, Lectora, Articulate Storyline, RISE, etc.)
• Computer literacy skills (Excel, PowerPoint, see skills required for full list)
• Good communication, analytical thinking, decision making and problem solving skill
• Project Management skills (Planning, Organising & Controlling)
• Santam Insurance Product Knowledge (Commercial & Personal lines)
