Network Administrator Senior

How a Network Administrator Senior Will Make An Impact
• Manages the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN). Monitors data traffic/network performance and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoots and resolves problems.

Job Description: Analyzes UC characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to UC components.

Evaluates existing UC systems to ensure capacity meets current and future requirements.

Designs and optimizes UC topologies and site configurations.

Plans installations, transitions, and cutovers of UC components and capabilities.

Analyzes customer requirements to determine optimal UC solutions.

Coordinates requirements with users and suppliers.

Provides technical solutions in the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including UC control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers.

Develops and/modifies process and technical documentation.

Creates back-up procedures, test plans, and related reports

Administer, operate and maintain local and distributed remote call clusters virtually hosted on the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) platform, gateways, gateway routers, and other UC systems.

Provide Tier 2 support, to include software upgrades, patching, and vulnerability management.

Work with the application maintainers and base level personnel to assist with troubleshooting application related issues.

Monitors UC network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network.

Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has authority to deviate from standard operating procedures.

Creates, maintains, and deletes user accounts.

Plans, installs, and maintains UC systems for multiple classifications.

May provide installation, maintenance and repair of UC hardware and software.

Support future downward-directed systems that may replace and/or modify existing systems.

Plans and diagrams the physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network.

Evaluates and recommends UC product and software upgrades.

Maintains operating efficiency and stability, and ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data.

May function in a "Tier 3" support role, resolving the most complex UC issues escalated by Tier 2 support.

May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

May serve as a team or task lead.

What You’ll Need To Succeed:
• Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.

Education And Experience Requirements May Be Substituted With:
• A Master’s Degree (in subjects described above) and five years general experience of which at least three years must be specialized experience or
• No degree and 11 years general experience of which at least eight years is specialized, or

An applicable certificate of training with two years undergraduate work can be considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
• Required Experience: This position requires a minimum of six years experience, of which at least four years must be recent specialized experience working enterprise-level support implementing and operating Cisco collaboration core technologies such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), and Cisco Unity, or five years of specialized experience in duties commensurate with UC Support: Administer, operate and maintain local and distributed remote call clusters virtually hosted on the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) platform, gateways, gateway routers and other UC systems, such as: Unified Communications Call Manager (CUCM), Automated Call Distribution (UCCX), Voicemail (Cisco Unity Connect), Voice Gateway Routers, Analog Voice Gateways, Session Border Controllers, UC Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates, Legacy Voice Transitions, Enhanced 911 (E911) Migration support, Call Detail Record (CDR) and Billing - Migration support, and Centrally managed Consolidated Operator Answering System (COAS) migration/transition of the legacy voice system to support COAS applications and IP telephony data transport.
• Certifications Required: DoDD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), Cisco Certified Technician with Collaboration (CCT Collaboration) certification or higher (e.g. CCNA), current and maintained.
• Security Clearance Level: Secret
