Job Description

Job Title: Marketing Manager - IMHX Trade Show

Location of Event: NEC, Birmingham, UK

Reporting to: Senior Marketing Manager (SMM)

About Us:

Embark on a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) – the premier B2B logistics industry trade show, scheduled to take place from the 9-11 September 2025 at NEC in Birmingham.

We're seeking a Temporary Marketing Manager to collaborate closely with the Senior Marketing Manager who is responsible for the event. Additionally, the successful applicant will receive executive support on the digital marketing side.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Campaign Delivery:
• Assist in developing and then executing the event’s 'Time & Action' (T&A) plan for the rest of 2024, aligning with campaign objectives and budgetary constraints
• Implement measures in-line with the SMM that enable the campaign’s performance to be optimised in terms of brand messaging, reach and engagement
• Keep up-to-date with current digital trends and incorporate new ideas and customer insights into campaigns

2. Collateral Production:
• Collaborate with external agencies and freelancers to create appealing sales brochures, flyers, and other on-brand assets
• Contribute creative ideas to infuse freshness into IMHX’s branding, differentiating it from traditional event marketing styles

3. Email Marketing:
• Implement and manage email and newsletter campaigns outlined within the T&A plan
• Foster a ‘Test-and-learn’ mindset, constantly analysing and optimising campaigns
• Measure and report on campaign performance to key internal and external stakeholders

4. Digital Marketing Campaign Support:
• Collaborate with our external agency partner and receive executive support to deliver a cohesive digital marketing campaign aligned with goals and within budgetary constraints

5. Social Media:
• Create engaging social media content to keep IMHX followers and key influencers informed about show developments, helping drive engagement, new audiences and conversions
• Drive the growth of our social media audiences vs our competitors

6. Website Optimisation Support:
• Maintain the show website with up-to-date information for both exhibitor and visitor prospect audiences
• Implement regular testing and traffic conversion strategies that demonstrate continual improvements

7. Partnership Marketing Assistance:
• Work with media partners, industry associations and exhibitors to maximise our marketing's reach, ensuring deliverables are executed in a timely fashion
• Keep partners informed of the latest show updates and monitor subsequent marketing performance (With in-person meetings across the UK occasionally being required)

8. Content Marketing Support:
• Devise top-of-funnel tactics and content ideas to help attract new audience prospects to engage with the IMHX brand
• Create and drive engagement with new articles, press releases, videos and white papers, maintaining IMHX’s tone-of-voice at all times

9. PR Collaboration:
• Implement both in-house PR efforts and contribute to partnerships with external agencies for impactful PR and content marketing campaigns


Qualifications and Experience:
• Proven experience in B2B event marketing
• Marketing experience across search, display, social and email channels
• Ability to quickly identify key insights which can then be used to help the IMHX brand evolve
• Experience of using relevant, engaging content to attract and nurture prospects through the buyer journey
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Demonstrate success in collaborating with external agencies and partners
• Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
