Job summary
The University of Washington School of Oceanography is hiring for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions.
The positions are in Biological Oceanography and Marine Geological Processes...
The anticipated start date is September 16, 2024.

Job seniority: entry level

Responsibilities
• Develop new or expanded areas of expertise within the School of Oceanography.
• Contribute to the teaching mission of the School at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
• Promote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Conduct research in the study of ecological or biogeochemical roles of organisms and communities in the dark ocean (Biological Oceanography position).
• Conduct research in the study of geological processes in the ocean (Marine Geological Processes position).
• Collaborate with colleagues within the School and across the University.

Requirements
• Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Oceanography or a related field.
• Experience and qualifications commensurate with the salary range.
• Experience in research, teaching, and service.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and educational settings.

Key Skills Needed
• Expertise in ecological or biogeochemical roles of organisms and communities (Biological Oceanography).
• Expertise in geological processes in the ocean (Marine Geological Processes).
• Collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Strong research and teaching abilities.
• Experience promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
