JOB SUMMARY

The Engineering Officer is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems, machinery, structures, landscape, furniture and fittings. He is responsible to comply with all governmental regulations as well as all Roxaco-Asia Hospitality Corporation Policies that relate to his position. He is tasked to champion the continuous improvement of the Fire, Life & Safety Standards of his property.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

GUEST RELATIONS

· Be readily available/approachable for all guests.

· Ensure that departments achieve or exceed guest’s service expectations.

· Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.

· Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in electrical/mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, plumbing) and other hotel equipment. Conducting ongoing room preventative maintenance program (see maintenance manual for system... specifics).

· Reviewing maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work.

· Troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning mechanical systems and equipment.

· Inspecting property to identify potential and current needs.

· Estimating department expenditures for budget purposes and assisting with the capital budget process.

· Review bids from contractors and evaluating their proposals. Once contractor is approved by the management, selected and employed, ensuring work is completed to specifications.

· Coordinating with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations.

· Performing preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

· Completing maintenance logs.

· Maintaining the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor.

· Maintain all Engineering tools, and ensure all tools are in good working condition.

· Maintain Inventory of the Engineering/Maintenance and ensure its cleanliness and organization.

· Requests all necessary materials for use in the building maintenance.
• Assists in Energy Conservation by ensuring all machines are cleaned, and maintained to the highest standard. Turning off all unnecessary equipment and reporting all leaks and wasted energy situations.
• Ensuring the highest standard of work and strict adherence to all safety standards and promote teamwork.
• Proactively recommends to Team Leaders and Technicians any suggestion to improve standards, reduce costs or increase safety.
• Prepares for, participate in, and follows up on any Fire, Life & Safety Audit.
• Confidently carry out the role of Emergency Response Team Member or Support team Member as assigned to him.
• Confidently and proactively champion the fire safety campaign amongst all other Team Members in the property.
• Proactively assists in rectifying all defects and responding to all breakdown requests in the most efficient and professional manner possible.
• Ensure a safe work environment to all Team Members promotes positivity and teamwork.

· Diligently sends reporting for all utilities and Engineering/maintenance issues to Operations Manager.

· Supervising and scheduling of maintenance staff.

DUTIES OF THE SAFETY OFFICER

The principal function of the Safety Officer is to act as the employer’s principal assistant and consultant in the application of programs to remove the hazards from the workplace and to correct unsafe work practices. For this purpose, the Safety Officer has the following duties:

· Serves as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee. As such, he shall:

a. prepare minutes of meetings;

b. report status of recommendations made;

c. notify members of the meetings; and

d. submit to the employer a report of the activities of the committee, including recommendations made.

· Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and the workers.

· Conducts investigation of accidents as member of the Health and Safety Committee and submits his separate report and analysis of accidents to the employer.

· Coordinates all health and safety training programs for the employees and employer.

· Conducts health and safety inspection as member of the committee.

· Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accident causes.

· Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.

· For purposes of effectiveness in a workplace where full-time safety man is required, he shall report directly to the employer.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Execute any other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the Duty Manager, Operations Manager and/or Area Operations Manager.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

A. Education – Engineering course graduate, Licensed

B. Work Experience – at least 3 years relevant experience, preferably in the Hospitality Industry

C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities –

Trustworthy, Self-driven, Results oriented

Knowledge of monitoring utilities

English Language proficiency

Fire, Life and Safety coordination experience

Leadership skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Php23,000.00 - Php25,000.00 per month
