Consider joining us, if you enjoy:Connecting guests to the extraordinary place we call homeDiscovering a broad offering of career pathsLearning and thriving among a group of international hospitality professionalsBeing passionate about people and attentive to the world - we are... globetrotters!Going beyond the walls of our hotel to support our communityTaking pride in our differencesThen this could be THE perfect opportunity for you, and we cannot wait to welcome you.#WeAreHamiltonPrincess Job Description Reporting to the Director, Event Sales & Services (DESS), responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Actively solicit new business from local client market by engaging in direct sales outreach and other sales activationsWork effectively with the operational teams to overseeing and managing all aspects of Group, Wedding and Social Events where assigned by the DESSEnsure Banquet Event Orders & Group Resumes are completed and accurate for distribution as requiredRespond to inquiries in a timely manner as set forth by Accor standardsInitiate the Event Services booking process by creating account bookings, establishing departmental files and generate timely notifications as it pertains to all types of guest and client inquiriesManage the preparation of proposals and contracts, coordinating group program detailsActive solicitation of client guarantees and the timely distribution of the information in accordance with established departmental processes and as requestedStay abreast of deposit deadlines as outlined in contracts with effective communication to clientsExtend site inspections and walk-in client queries as requiredManaging the design and printing of custom projects including - menus for weddings and events; event diagrams and seating floorplansEnsure Health & Safety standards are complied with at all times, as well as, adherence to our Sustainability Partnership Program initiativesMaintain integrity of Opera Sales & Catering database, Fairmonts sales force toolPerform daily, weekly and monthly tasks and additional administrative duties to support the Event DivisionWork closely with Group Rooms Specialist to ensure accuracy in VIP arrival times & VIP status where appropriateAttend BEO and Resume meetings as scheduledAttend daily operations and weekly leadership meetings as scheduledPerform any other duties on a day to day basis as assigned by the DOESS Qualifications Minimum of three years previous experience in weddings and events is preferred, experience in a large hotel sales environment required.Strong computer literacy with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is requiredHigh energy with exceptional organization, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalMust be a creative and effective person, possessing a high degree of professionalism both in appearance and telephone mannerMust be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environmentMust be a proven team player who is motivated and can take initiativeAbility to multitask and take directions from numerous sourcesHighly responsible and reliableMust be flexible in availability as long hours may be required depending on business levelsBachelor degree in Hotel Management and/or equivalent experience working in the hospitality industry is a definite assetOpera knowledge requiredRequired to work evenings and weekends as necessary
