Financial Controller - Monaco

EEW Eco Energy World (‘EEW’), founded by entrepreneur Svante Kumlin, is an independent global pure-play renewable energy projects developer, historically focusing on utility-scale solar photovoltaic (‘PV’) projects, having expanded recently to solar plus battery energy storage systems (‘BESS’) projects and currently also targeting servicing the green hydrogen industry. Since 2012, EEW has developed 22 solar PV projects totalling approximately 1.6 GW across UK, Australia and Spain.

Purpose of the Role:

EEW is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join the finance team based in Monaco. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the group finance function, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of financial and non-financial information to the Company, its subsidiaries, and other stakeholders.

This is a high-profile role with exposure to senior stakeholders across the business and externally. The role provides a great opportunity to participate in a successful growth story and will suit candidates with excellent technical skills and strong commercial acumen who are looking to fast-track their careers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ownership of the full set of consolidated reports, group interim reports, and annual reports for subsidiary entities.
• Completing statutory filings and ensuring compliance with regulation in respective jurisdictions liaising with international entities to assist in the preparation of local and group reporting.
• Development and oversight of internal systems, controls, and processes to ensure risk management and mitigation.
• Liaison and coordination with the external auditors and tax and other advisors.
• Supervision of accounting tax and treasury to ensure cash resources across the group are optimized.
• Oversee M&A accounting.
• Oversee cash forecasting and group funding requirements.
• Development of Group treasury function.

Experience and background required:
• Qualified accountant (ACA) with a minimum of 5 year’s experience.
• Good communication skills with all levels.
• Experience of operating in the energy or renewable energy industries.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Technically strong, with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS.
• Familiar with group finance functions within multi-jurisdictional corporate structures.
• M&A experience desirable.

General skills:
• Fluency in English.
• A committed team player with a strong commercial outlook and a hands-on approach.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong man management skills and a proven track record of development and management of direct reports.
• Ability to work autonomously and show initiative and resilience.
• Comfortable in a highly visible role where change is on the agenda.
• Able to build relationships across the organisation and accustomed to working effectively with external stakeholders and advisers.
