Job Description
• The Provost is the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the Institute.

He Shall among other duties:
• Be Responsible for the Day-to-Day Running of the Institute,
• Promote Research, Teaching and high Standard of Academic Excellence;
• Regulate the Admission of Students, Subject to Guidelines and Procedures as Approved by the Academic Board:
• Be Responsible to Council for the Maintenance of Peace, Law and Order in the Institute
• Be competent at all times to Advise the Council on all Matters Affecting the Institute;
• Be Responsible for the Maintenance of Staff and Student's Welfare and Discipline.

Qualifications and Qualities

Candidates Applying for the Post of Provost are required to Possess the Following Qualifications and Qualities, amongst others:
• A Distinguished Scholar, with a Doctorate Degree PhD in any of the following Areas: Education, Arts, Social Science and Law from any Recognized University;
• Membership of Relevant Professional Body/Bodies;
•... Proven Exemplary Leadership Qualities that will Command the Respect of Staff and Students;
• Outstanding Moral Character, Probity, Integrity and Accountability;
• Drive a Clear Vision for the Development of the Institute;
• Must be Mentally and Physically fit to Effectively Discharge the Responsibilities of a Provost;
• Must also be good in public relations.

Tenure of Office
• The Provost shall hold Office for a Single Term of Four Years in the first instance and may be re-appointed for a Second Term of Four Years and no more.
